1. About this policy
1.1. This policy explains how electric vehicles (EVs) may be charged at Porth Eryri Glamping and the responsibilities of guests using our charging facilities.
1.2. References to the Property include the cabins, gardens, grounds and communal areas at Porth Eryri Glamping.
1.3. This policy forms part of our agreement with you. By booking a stay and using our EV charging facilities, you agree to comply with this policy. A breach of this policy may constitute a breach of our booking terms.
2. Who does this policy apply to?
2.1. This policy applies to all members of the booking party and any other visitors to Porth Eryri Glamping.
2.2. The lead guest is responsible for ensuring that all members of the booking party and any authorised visitors are made aware of and comply with this policy.
3. What is an electric vehicle?
3.1. For the purposes of this policy, an electric vehicle is any vehicle that uses electric motors, either fully or partially, to drive its wheels and derives some or all of its power from rechargeable batteries that require connection to an electricity supply.
3.2. This includes fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars, motorbikes, buggies, scooters, mopeds, bicycles, utility vehicles and tracked vehicles.
4. Domestic chargers are not permitted
4.1. Many electric vehicles are supplied with a domestic charger, commonly known as a granny charger or trickle charger. These cables charge an EV using a domestic power source via a standard three-pin wall socket.
4.2. Domestic chargers are not suitable for use at Porth Eryri Glamping and may create a fire hazard. The use of domestic chargers is strictly prohibited anywhere on the Property.
4.3. We reserve the right to carry out reasonable inspections, without prior notice where necessary, to ensure that domestic chargers are not being used on the Property.
4.4. You may be held responsible for damage or loss caused by your unauthorised use of a domestic charger, subject to applicable law.
5. Dedicated EV charging points
5.1. Porth Eryri Glamping has two dedicated EV charging points located at the entrance to the site. These charging points are provided and operated through Monta.
5.2. You are responsible for supplying a suitable charging cable compatible with the charging point and your vehicle.
5.3. The charging points are exclusively for use by guests included in a booking, our staff and approved contractors. Other visitors are not permitted to use the facilities without our express permission.
5.4. Charging is subject to fair usage. The electricity charge is £0.50 per kWh, payable directly through the Monta app. Charges are processed within the app and are separate from your accommodation booking payment.
5.5. A QR code providing instructions for using the charging point is displayed on the charger. Please follow the instructions and any guidance provided through the Monta app.
5.6. You must not:
Use a charging point unless you are authorised to do so.
Use splitting cables or modify the charging point in any way.
Smoke in the vicinity of any charging point.
Park in or obstruct a designated charging space unless you are using the charging point for its intended purpose.
Leave your vehicle occupying a charging space once charging is complete or your permitted charging period has ended.
5.7. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee if you fail to move your vehicle after charging is complete or after your permitted usage period has ended. Any applicable fee will be communicated to you in advance.
5.8. Charging spaces must not be occupied or obstructed by non-electric vehicles or electric vehicles that are not using the charging point for charging purposes.
6. Availability and authorisation
6.1. We cannot guarantee that a charging point will be available at all times. The temporary unavailability of a charging point does not, by itself, constitute a breach of our Guest Terms & Conditions.
6.2. Authorisation to use a charging point during your stay must be obtained before use. We reserve the right to withdraw this authorisation at any time for a reasonable safety, operational or other legitimate reason.
6.3. Please do not use a charging point that appears damaged or unsafe. Report any faults or concerns to us as soon as possible.
7. Responsibility and liability
7.1. You are responsible for using the charging points safely and in accordance with the instructions provided by Monta and Porth Eryri Glamping.
7.2. Use of the charging points is at your own risk. We are not responsible for loss or damage to your vehicle or belongings arising from use of the charging facilities, except to the extent that such loss or damage is caused by our negligence, breach of contract or other legal responsibility.
7.3. You are responsible for damage to the charging point, or loss suffered by us, caused by your use of the charging facilities, subject to applicable law.
7.4. The charging points are hosted and provided through Monta. Monta manages the charging service and app functionality. We do not control all aspects of the Monta service, including app availability, payment processing or technical interruptions. For issues relating to the app or charging payments, you may need to contact Monta directly.
7.5. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Breach of this policy
8.1. Failure to comply with this policy may result in permission to use the charging facilities being withdrawn.
8.2. Where a breach causes damage, loss or additional costs, we reserve the right to seek reasonable, evidenced compensation in accordance with our Guest Terms & Conditions and applicable law.
Please contact us using the details provided on our website or in your Booking Confirmation if you have any questions about this policy.
